Friday 2nd June 2017 @ 7pm.
“After the success of election hustings at the Wesley for the General Election 2015 and local elections 2016 we are expecting a lively audience and a thought-provoking evening.” Chair, David Burley, Maltby Community Development Trust.
Maltby Community Development Trust would like to invite you to a ‘discussion evening’ at the Wesley Centre in Maltby. The Board of the Community Development Trust keeps away from political discussion within the normal running of our affairs, but we felt an evening with a seated audience, the bar open, tea and coffee available, and our prospective candidates, might be of interest and a benefit to the community. We will charge a small fee (£1) to people who wish to attend, so that our running costs are met. Bar drinks will be at normal bar prices. All candidates from Conservative, Green, Labour, Liberal Democrat and UKIP parties have been invited.
If you would like to ask a question on the night please email your question to: firstname.lastname@example.org or drop it off at the Wesley Centre at the above address.
The questions must be generic, so all candidates can answer, specific questions to an individual will not be aired.
The chair will not be asking questions!!! Except of a general nature and hopefully to encourage discussion and good humour. We have no political point to make. Rather we want to keep the evening to serious thought about real political issues, and genuine opinion, but with respect for one another. This is a forum for candidates to describe their policies to people within the community who they hope to serve after the local election.
Entrance Fee: £1 per person. Bar / tea & coffee starts @ 6.30pm, debate starts at 7pm.. The events centre seats over 100 people comfortably, with tables for those seated nearer the stage. We anticipate a good audience, and we hope an interested and thoughtful audience that will give good feedback to the candidates.
